hey everyone:)!
...its been a while since ive last spoke! My apologies …....There has been so much happening lately…..Patrick and I finally decided to buy a house! no, not the same one we were thinking of buying….he he he…..(excuse that other blog). We are in the same neighborhood (the Old West End) and this house is beautiful! It’s an Arts and Crafts style home built in 1906 and wow, so ready to move in! I’ll post some pics when i get the chance. Ooohhhhh home ownership is bliss! And what a cool third floor we have, it’s like a little bungalow up there with this crazy slanted ceiling. Did I say it was beautiful?:)
Ill say it again….life is crazy….... taking you in turns you never expect to take…
Well, this move has really thrown us off….so many boxes, so much stuff! It took weeks for us to finally get all of our stuff out of our old place. Thank god it’s only a couple of streets over to where we are now! As it stands, were pretty much moved in and ready to get back to some serious art making. We have quite a few shows lined up for this summer including the Old West End Fest (right here in the hood), Art on the Mall (on the campus of UT), and the Black Swamp Festival in Bowling Green. If your on our mailing list you will most likely get a postcard for these events….hope to see you there!
And in the midst of it all, Pat and I are getting busy making work for our show that opens at the end of June at Space 237, (Toledo’s swanky art gallery in the heart of downtown)....and the deadline is coming fast!.........Im actually making sculptural stuff for the first time since grad school. I have no clue as to what Im doing and it feels great! Hmmmm, this is getting interesting:)...Ill let you know how thats going…..as it goes!
I know some of you have been asking me to get some pictures of our new stuff online and I will do that too, I promise! In fact, I just got finished taking some photos of my new landscapes And mushroom beads (too cool!).....now its a matter of posting them. God, I’m such a procrastinator! I’ll get them up there…...at some point….:)
We are going to do some remodeling to the store, so if you see some changes happening it means were trying to make the store easier to navigate….mabey just one page of stuff to cut down on all that mouse clicking:)
In other news, I finally made it in the Toledo Museum of Art’s Magazine,”Art Matters”! Its just a blurb, but it’s in there,with a picture! I was asked to be the May artist for the Museum. Im really proud and excited to do this…...and honored that they asked. Thanks Guys! So…..I will be talking about my work and how its made on Friday the 19th of May from 7-9 PM in the Libbey Court at the TMA. Drop by if your in the area!
Lets see, what else…...speaking of the museum…..the new glass pavilion has been delayed. :( The new opening date is in August….(long story).....But, good news! Lino is still coming in May and will demonstrate in the new building…....rumor has it that the Hot Shop #1 will be ready to go. I’ll post pictures of this event for sure!
