Living in the glass house

Ive mentioned before that I work at the Toledo Museum of Art’s hot shop. Well, now that the new Glass Pavilion is open I can finally say that I work in one of the top 3 hot shops in the country…maybe in the world! We literally went from a shack to a palace.

Art on the Mall, in the heatwave

Hey there! This is Jen, Robin’s sister here at the blog helm, filling you in on the latest Soffietta news while I’m visiting. We spent Sunday at Art on the Mall here in Toledo, Ohio. It was hot hot hot, but that couldn’t keep the crowds of art connisseurs away from our tables! Patrick’s Confettiware glasses and Robin’s stemless Murrini wineglasses were the favorites, at their Art-for-the-People price of $20. Wow!—> Email us to find out how to sip in style from your very own set of these lovely glasses!

Robin’s latest lampworked beads—the Landscape Cameos—were gone by noon. ( but don’t fret, Robin will have more soon at the new Ebay Store! )

And for those of you in the Toledo area, these are your last few days to check out Patrick and Robin’s inspiring show at Space 237. If you’re in the Old West End, check out the profile on the artists and the show in your “Old West End magazine”. The issue should be showing up at your doorstep soon!

The Old West End

Patrick & I Live in the Old West End…a historic district in the heart of Toledo. It is the largest neighborhood of late Victorian, Edwardian, and Arts & Crafts homes in the country!

halloween is upon us!

This weekend we had Patrick’s two youngest children over to visit. Sarah is 7, and Jackson is 5, so they are really into halloween! After raking leaves and jumping in the pile for a couple of hours on Saturday, we went out looking for pumpkins and found some real beauties.

great workshop!

I took a workshop last weekend at the museum on how to make glass pens! It was great, My good friend Tink and her boyfriend John taught the class. We all had so much fun, and I ended up making about 10 pens!
